Today, Robert Duvall filed his application and announced his intention to run for Milton Ward 1 councillor in the 2014 Municipal Election.
Robert Duvall has been a community spokesperson for several years since moving with his family to Milton in 2008. Robert and his wife Carol, run an I.T. consulting firm in the ward and have been very active in the Milton community, holding fundraisers with other Milton community leaders for the United Way Milton and Milton District Hospital.
Robert and his wife, together with their partner, Richard Bolton of Centricity 360 and current president of the Milton Chamber of Commerce, started a local networking and referral group in 2012 called Milton Business Connections, to assist other Milton entrepreneurs with a forum by which they can grow and market their own small business to the Milton community.
Robert also sits on the board of the HalTech Regional Innovative Centre which will soon be moving into the Milton Innovation Centre at 555 Industrial Drive, Milton. Established in 2011, HalTech provides support to get innovators, tech based businesses, entrepreneurs and researchers connected to a network of professionals who will take a concept from idea to reality.
Robert has also been a supporter of local business with his TV show, Halton Tech Today that airs regularly on TV Cogeco (Milton). Halton Tech Today was brought to bear by the need to highlight local Halton innovators who may have otherwise have gone unnoticed in the global spotlight if it weren’t for the support of groups like Silicon Halton and Halton Tech Today TV.
Mostly recently, Robert appeared as a regular on the TV Cogeco (Milton) weekly show, #TheIssue, hosted by Mark Carr, as the voice of the people. The show spotlights local Milton and Halton region issues from waste management, transportation, to the Velodrome and Milton Education Village.
